The contractor shall provide licensed pharmacists to perform remote prescription order review and order entry services for outpatient pharmacy services. Pharmacists will evaluate prescriptions for drug interactions, allergies, appropriate doses, and formulary status, and will process prescriptions electronically to the centralized mail-out pharmacy (CMOP) or suspend for local mail. The contractor must provide at least six qualified pharmacists at all times, working Sunday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., including federal holidays. Pharmacists must have their own computer equipment and access VA systems (VistA and CPRS) via a secure web-based system. The contractor will process approximately 120,000 to 150,000 pending outpatient prescriptions per month.
