Posted Scope of Work

This contract will provide service for five years with the enhanced LCM and ISEA support services for Navy, Military Sealift Command (MSC) and United States Coast Guard (USCG) engine lines under Caterpillar's cognizance, in order to augment the effectiveness of critical diesel engine programs including Diesel Readiness System (DRS) and Diesel Maintenance System (DMS) by engaging with a primary diesel engine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Caterpillar. The scope of the work will include the following:
• Program Management
• Engineering/Technical Support
• Logistics Support
• Engine Training Support
• Administrative Support

Proprietary information such as design dimensional data (measurements, tolerances, clearances, etc.), component surface finish, material composition, manufacturing procedures, component wear limits, repair specifications and engine qualification test data is the sole property of CAT, and is not available to the Government or other potential vendors or contractors without a contractual agreement involving CAT.

Pursuant to 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), CAT is the only responsible source capable of fulfilling the Navy's requirements for the specified effort. The proposed award and resulting contract modifications are for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties, however, may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
