Through this project, several recreation areas will be decommissioned in the Tonto Basin Ranger District (RD), and Globe RD. The decommission of campgrounds at the Tonto Bassin RD is the base bid and at Globe RD, it is an option bid. The intent of this work is to remove and safely dispose outside of the National Forest boundaries, recreational accommodations that include but not limited to Entry station buildings, toilets buildings, sidewalks, asphalt pavement, fish cleaning stations, septic system, and parking lots.
The project involves the decommissioning of campgrounds at Indian Point, Schoolhouse, Windy Hill, Grapevine Group Site, Cholla, Bermuda Flat, and Burnt Corral Recreation Site (base bid) and Jones Water Campground (option bid). Work includes removal and safe disposal of entry station buildings, toilet buildings (flush and vault), sidewalks, asphalt pavement, fish cleaning stations, septic systems, parking lots, and other recreational accommodations. Specific tasks include demolition of structures, pumping and removal of septic tanks, asphalt pulverization, removal of concrete pads and rubble, backfilling voids, and recontouring sites to natural grade. The contractor must supply all labor, materials, equipment, and necessary licenses and permits.
