FY27 NRM (PROJ 516-26-117) BB Repair Steam Piping in Manhole Near Building 1

The contractor shall completely prepare the site for repairs, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials to repair the steam leak. The work is three-fold: first, order long-lead Rovanco underground steam piping; second, install two rental boilers in buildings 71 and 101, powered by diesel generators, to provide hot water during the repair; third, purchase, install, and test/commission all required steam piping, including digging at least 6 feet away from the manhole to replace two sets of pipes entering and exiting the manhole, and replacing all piping and fittings inside the manhole. The contractor must also provide temporary electric heating hot water and domestic water heating sources, replace all high-pressure steam and pumped condensate pipes, replace valves, install a new sump pump, apply waterproofing to the manhole walls, and restore all disturbed ground and structures.
