The City of San Antonio requires a $2,000 bond from contractors who build sidewalks, curbs, and gutters in the public right-of-way. Ours is $100 flat — the price you see is the checkout price, the same for every contractor. The application collects your SSN for the bond form.

Municipal right-of-way bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details, your SSN for the bond form, and an effective date.
Small fixed-amount municipal bonds like this issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond and power of attorney arrive by email, ready to file with the city for your right-of-way work. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
A sidewalk, curb, and gutter bond is a City-of-San-Antonio right-of-way guarantee. Contractors who build or repair sidewalks, curbs, and gutters in the public right-of-way must do the work to city standards and leave the right-of-way sound — the bond backs that obligation.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of San Antonio (the obligee). If your work in the right-of-way is defective or leaves the city to repair it, San Antonio can recover against the bond up to $2,000.
It never affects your score. If the surety pays a claim, you repay the surety; contractors who build to standard treat the bond as a formality.
These are the actual issuing fields. Your SSN is collected to print on the bond form.
