Minnesota requires every combative sports promoter to deposit a surety bond — not less than $10,000 — with the Combative Sports Commission before a promoter’s license issues. At $10,000 the price is $300 flat, 3% of the bond amount. The application is five minutes.

Promoter bonds are simple. Here is the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That is the application — no financials, no credit check section, no follow-up.
Bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond arrives by email, ready to deposit with the Commission for your promoter’s license. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
$10,000 bond × 3% = $300, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price, multi-year if you want it.
Minnesota regulates boxing, mixed martial arts, and other combative sports through the Combative Sports Commission under Minn. Stat. ch. 341. Before the commissioner issues a promoter’s license, the applicant must deposit a surety bond — in an amount set by the commissioner, but not less than $10,000.
The bond is executed in favor of the State of Minnesota and is conditioned on the promoter faithfully performing their obligations under chapter 341 and the rules adopted under it — paying fighters, taxes, and fees, and following the rules that protect athletes and the public at a licensed event.
It is a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the State of Minnesota. If a promoter fails to meet their obligations and the state or a harmed party suffers loss, they can recover against the bond — and if the surety pays, you repay the surety.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn’t have one.
