Wyandotte's zoning code (Chapter 190) gives the city authority to require a bond for any sign erected in or overhanging a public right-of-way, where the sponsor must first get sign-off from the agency with jurisdiction over that right-of-way; sign plans generally must also be reviewed and approved by the Building Department before a sign is erected. The Building Department administers the bond requirement as part of the sign permit and contractor registration process.
