When Cascade Charter Township approves a site plan, it can require the developer to guarantee the landscaping — the trees, screening, and plantings the approval calls for. Rather than hold up your certificate of occupancy until everything is in the ground and established, the Township accepts a bond.
It’s a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and Cascade Charter Township (the obligee). If the required landscaping isn’t installed and maintained as approved, the Township can draw on the bond to complete it.
