LA pest control operator bonds.
$275. Five minutes.

Louisiana requires a licensed structural pest control operator to maintain a $2,000 bond filed with the Department of Agriculture & Forestry. At 3% the math lands below our floor, so ours is $275 flat — the minimum premium — and the application is five minutes with no credit check.

About this bond

What it is and who needs it.

What the bond actually guarantees

Louisiana regulates structural pest control — termite, wood-destroying-insect, and general household pest work — through the Department of Agriculture & Forestry and its Structural Pest Control Commission. A licensed operator must execute a bond conditioned on the honest conduct of the business.

It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the State of Louisiana, with your customers as the protected parties. If an operator's covered conduct financially harms a customer, the customer can recover against the bond up to $2,000.

The bond must stay active for the life of your license, and the Commission generally requires written notice before cancellation or replacement. We track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out so your filing never lapses.

La. R.S. 3:3366 et seq. (Structural Pest Control)Louisiana's structural pest control law is now codified at La. R.S. 3:3366 et seq. (the program was recodified from Title 40 into Title 3 of the Revised Statutes). It conditions a structural pest control operator's license, administered by the Department of Agriculture & Forestry, on a surety or fidelity bond — the Propeller schema reflects a $2,000 amount. Confirm the current amount on your LDAF application, and we'll issue the matching bond.

FAQs

Common questions.

If yours isn't here, the bond team can usually answer within the hour.

How much is the Louisiana pest control operator bond? +
The premium is $275 — our minimum. The bond amount is fixed at $2,000, and 3% of that ($60) falls below our floor, so the price is $275, the same for every operator.
Do I pay the $2,000? +
No. You pay $275. The $2,000 is the surety's maximum liability if a valid claim is made against the bond — not a deposit, and nobody holds your money.
Is there a credit check? +
No — the application has no credit section at all. Small fixed-amount license bonds like this one don't need one.
How fast will I have the bond? +
Small license bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase — many operators finish the application and have the bond in the same sitting. At most, 1–2 business days.
When does it renew? +
The bond must stay active for as long as you hold the license. You can buy a 1, 2, or 3-year term; we send renewal notices 60 and 30 days out, with autopay available, so your license never lapses over a missed email.
