Louisiana requires every intrastate household goods mover to file a $5,000 bond with the Public Service Commission before moving anyone. At 3% the math lands below our floor, so ours is $275 flat — the minimum premium — with no credit check.

License bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the entire process:
Business details and an effective date. That's the application — no financials, no credit check section.
Small fixed license bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase. At most, 1–2 business days.
Your executed bond arrives by email, ready to file with your household goods carrier certificate application. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
$5,000 bond × 3% = $150, which is below our $275 minimum — so you pay $275, one-time per term. Fixed amount, fixed price.
Louisiana regulates the intrastate transportation of household goods through the Louisiana Public Service Commission. Before moving household goods inside the state, a carrier must hold a common carrier certificate and file a $5,000 surety bond with the Commission.
The bond is one piece of the Commission's movers framework — which also requires cargo and workers' compensation insurance and a permanent Louisiana establishment. The surety bond runs to the Commission for the benefit of the public, standing behind the carrier's compliance with the household goods rules.
It is not insurance for you — if the surety pays a claim, you repay the surety. The bond must stay on file as long as you hold the certificate; we track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out so your authority never lapses.
These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn't have one.
