The City of Wood Dale licenses businesses and trades that operate inside city limits through its Community Development Department, and conditions an auctioneer license on a $1,000 surety bond filed with the City. The bond guarantees an auctioneer conducts sales in compliance with city licensing terms.
It’s a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Wood Dale (the obligee), with the City and the public it licenses for as the protected parties. If a licensed auctioneer violates the terms of the license, a covered claim can run against the bond.
