IBEW Local 150 wage & fringe bonds.
$2,000 flat.

An electrical contractor signatory to the IBEW Local 150 collective bargaining agreement, covering the collar counties around Chicago, files a single $50,000 bond guaranteeing both wages and fringe-benefit contributions — ours is $2,000 flat, and the price you see is the checkout price. The application includes a credit consent, but it authorizes a soft credit pull only — a soft inquiry that never affects your score. No hard inquiry ever runs on this bond.

About this bond

What it is and who needs it.

What the bond actually guarantees

IBEW Local 150 — the electrical workers' local covering the counties and municipalities around Chicago outside the city itself — requires signatory contractors to post a single bond backing both wage payments and fringe-benefit contributions (health & welfare, pension, and training-fund payments) under the Local's collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The combined amount is set at $50,000.

It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and Local 150 or its jointly-administered benefit funds (the obligee), protecting the union electricians whose pay and benefits depend on the CBA being honored. If a signatory contractor falls delinquent, the Local notifies the surety under the bond and can make a claim.

It is not insurance for you — if the surety pays a claim, you repay the surety. The bond must stay in force for as long as you remain a signatory employer, so we track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out to keep your $50,000 filing continuous.

IBEW Local 150 collective bargaining agreementThis bond is not required by an Illinois statute — it is a condition of the collective bargaining agreement between IBEW Local Union No. 150 and its signatory electrical contractors. Local 150's benefit funds office sets and administers the $50,000 combined wage-and-fringe bond requirement and can confirm whether your specific inside or outside agreement calls for a different amount.

You need this bond if you're

Signing the IBEW Local 150 collective bargaining agreement for the first time as an electrical contractor
Renewing your wage & fringe bond and your current filing is expiring or non-renewing
Expanding into Local 150 territory from a neighboring IBEW jurisdiction
Reinstating a lapsed bond filing after a gap in signatory status

FAQ

Common questions.

How much is the IBEW Local 150 wage and fringe benefit bond? The premium is $2,000 flat — set by our carrier's rate book for this bond. The $50,000 combined bond amount is set by the Local 150 collective bargaining agreement, so there is no quote process.
Do I pay the $50,000?No. You pay $2,000. The $50,000 is the surety's maximum liability if a valid claim is made against the bond — not a deposit, and nobody holds your money.
How fast will I have the bond?Bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase — many contractors finish the application and have the bond in the same sitting. At most, 1–2 business days.
Is there a credit check? The application includes a credit consent, but it authorizes a soft pull only — a soft inquiry that won't affect your score. No hard inquiry ever runs on this bond.
Does this bond cover both wages and fringe benefits?Yes — unlike Local 134, which splits the requirement into two separate bonds, Local 150 uses one combined $50,000 bond covering both wage payments and fringe-benefit fund contributions.
