Nassau County requires a $2,000 surety bond to register a local contractor or specialty trade. Ours is $100 flat. The bond issues the moment you pay — no credit review of any kind, not even a soft pull.

County registration bonds are the simplest thing in surety. Here's the whole process:
Business details, your license/trade info, and an effective date. No financials, no credit section, no follow-up scavenger hunt.
Registration bonds like this are among the thousands of bond types that issue right after purchase.
Your executed bond arrives by email, ready to file with the Nassau County Building Department. Wet-ink original mailed on request.
A Nassau County contractor license bond is a compliance guarantee. On the county’s bond form, you promise to faithfully perform the duties of your license and comply with the laws and ordinances that apply to it. Nassau County asks for the bond when it licenses a local contractor through a certificate of competency.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and Nassau County (the obligee, the party the bond protects). The county is the only obligee: if you break the laws or ordinances that apply to your license, Nassau County can claim against the bond, up to $2,000.
The bond must stay active for the life of your county registration. Let it lapse and your registration can be pulled — so we track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out to keep your $2,000 filing continuous.
These are the actual issuing fields — the application collects no credit information for this bond.
