What the bond actually guarantees
Moulton's alcohol bond is a tax-and-fee guarantee. A business that sells alcoholic beverages in the city collects local alcohol taxes and fees on the city's behalf, and the City of Moulton conditions the alcoholic beverage license on a $10,000 surety bond standing behind those amounts.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Moulton (the obligee). If a licensee fails to remit the city alcohol tax or fee owed, the city can recover against the bond up to the $10,000 penal sum.
