S208 - Replace playground rubber mulch with engineered wood fiber and clean area
The contractor shall remove all rubber mulch from four designated fall zones (total area 4,715 sq ft, estimated volume 146 cubic yards) at the First Environments Early Learning Center, including nearby rubber mulch that has spread from the fall zones. The contractor shall collect and transport the rubber mulch offsite for proper disposal. The contractor shall then install engineered wood fiber mulch that complies with ASTM F1292, F2075, and F1951-21 standards, to a fluffed depth of at least 12 inches, over a geotextile fabric layer on a prepared base. The contractor shall also remove rubber mulch contamination from three adjacent polygons (total area 9,988 sq ft, estimated volume 2.67 cubic yards). Work shall primarily be performed outside normal operating hours (7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday) and on weekends to minimize disruption to daycare operations.
