The contractor shall provide all planning, labor, materials, equipment, supervision and expertise required for the complete construction of the new boiler plant (Building 14) as well as the demolition and removal of the existing plant, both of which reside on the grounds of the VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Marion, IL. The contractor shall refer to the Project #657-507, Correct Seismic Deficiencies B14 plans and specifications for details on all requirements of construction. All work will be performed in accordance with this SOW, the project documents as well as all applicable local, State, Federal and VA codes and standards.

22 OCT 2026 This purpose of this update is to post the Amendment 36C10F26R0085 0001 for posting the site visit roster and sign in sheets.
The contractor shall provide all planning, labor, materials, equipment, supervision and expertise for the complete construction of the new boiler plant (Building 14) and the demolition and removal of the existing plant at the Marion VAMC. The work includes site establishment (0.7 acres, cut/fill, parking, fencing, fuel oil tank yard, utility modifications, roadway realignment, steam tunnel modification/construction); construction of the new plant building (approx. 10,310 sf over three floors, augercast pile and grade beam foundation, structural steel braced frame, reinforced masonry walls, concrete slabs); installation of all building systems (mechanical, HVAC, electrical, telecom, plumbing, fire protection) including three new 250 HP gas-fired firetube boilers with fuel oil backup, diesel generator, medium/low voltage power distribution, water tower pumping/monitoring system, new controls/IT, and fire protection; startup and commissioning of all new plant systems; cutover of all utility services from the existing plant to the new; and demolition of the existing 6,200 sf plant (built 1940, retrofitted 1980s) including teardown, haulaway, and site restoration to green space, with mitigation of hazardous construction materials. Two deductive design alternates are included: deletion of asphalt replacement on East Periphery Drive, and removal of maintenance garage and shop space addition to new plant.
