Speech Therapy for Rocky Ridge Boarding School
The contractor works directly with BIE-funded schools to initiate evaluations or re-evaluations for four identified students referred as possibly in need of special education and related services, scheduling and conducting full evaluations within the required time frame. The therapist participates in the development of an Evaluation Team Summary Report (ETSR), participates in student assessment and multi-disciplinary team interactions to present evaluation results to parents, teachers and administrators, and provides consultation and technical assistance on specialized therapy matters. The contractor guides and supervises implementation of individual therapy with school staff, parents and educational assistants, develops and implements therapy interventions, makes progress reports, and maintains records in accordance with federal regulations. Services are documented on required BIE Service Logs for each student, submitted to the school monthly within five working days after a new month begins and attached to the payment invoice in the IPP payment portal. The contractor provides monthly schedules of visits and students, provides weekly on-site services during the school year as warranted by student need, provides progress reports coinciding with the school's grading periods, provides a backup individual for each specialty in case emergency services are needed, and attends IEP meetings to discuss evaluation results and recommendations, developing IEP goals and inputting them into NASIS. The schedule of services is 1.5 hours per day one day per week and 0.5 hours per day for three days per week.
