Specialized Medical Laboratory Testing Services, VA Palo Alto Health Care System

The contractor shall provide all personnel, supervision, equipment, supplies, materials, facilities, and resources necessary to perform Reference Laboratory Services in accordance with all State, Federal, Local and OSHA Regulations for the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service, VA Palo Alto Health Care System, Palo Alto Division, 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304. The contractor shall perform and report specialized laboratory test services, including but not limited to encephalopathy, autoimmune/paraneoplastic testing, amyloid protein identification, axonal testing, alpha-galactosidase, demyelinating neuropathy evaluation, comprehensive panel testing for autoimmune causes of gastric dysmotility, pathology consults, quantitative M-protein studies, stiff-person/PERM evaluation, CNS demyelinating disease evaluation, myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG-IgG-1) FACS titer assay, neuromyelitis optica (NMO)/aquaporin-4 FACS IgG assay, comprehensive panel testing for paraneoplastic/rapid vision loss, culture for genetic testing, fibroblast culture, hemophilia A F8 gene sequencing, and von Willebrand disease testing. The contractor shall be available to receive specimens by post and provide testing Monday through Friday between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with results generally reported electronically within 7 to 10 business days. The contractor shall attend a one-hour Start of Work Teleconference within fifteen business days following contract award.
