The contractor shall provide all planning, labor, materials, equipment, supervision and expertise required for the complete construction of the new boiler plant (Building 14) as well as the demolition and removal of the existing plant, both of which reside on the grounds of the VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Marion, IL. The contractor shall refer to the Project #657-507, Correct Seismic Deficiencies B14 plans and specifications for details on all requirements of construction.
All work will be performed in accordance with this SOW, the project documents as well as all applicable local, State, Federal and VA codes and standards.
The contractor shall provide all planning, labor, materials, equipment, supervision and expertise for the complete construction of a new boiler plant (Building 14), including a new building site, building structure, all mechanical/HVAC/electrical/plumbing/fire protection systems, startup and commissioning, cutover of utility services, and demolition and removal of the existing boiler plant. The work also includes construction of a steam tunnel system, site utility modifications, roadway realignment, and associated site work. The project includes two deductive design alternatives: deletion of asphalt replacement on East Periphery Drive and removal of maintenance garage and shop space addition.
