BRCA 310427 Southbound Shuttle Stop

The work includes shuttle stop improvements along Bryce Canyon Road at the intersection with the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center. The project involves clearing and grubbing, demolition and salvage, erosion and sedimentation control, concrete and asphalt paving, storm drain replacement, riprap, earthwork and grading, multi-use trail realignment, addition of a southbound shuttle stop, cast-in-place retaining wall construction, construction of a new shuttle stop shelter, sidewalk and ADA ramp construction, curb and gutter, traffic control, signage, and pavement striping. The contractor must maintain public access, implement a 3-way stop at the intersection, and provide a certified Traffic Control Design Specialist. Work is restricted to 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday work without prior approval. The contractor must protect existing utilities, including a potable water line, and is responsible for locating and potholing utilities. The project is located in Utah Prairie Dog habitat, requiring a 50 ft buffer around active burrows and restrictions on heavy machinery operation near burrows before June 15th or after August 30th. The contractor must also prepare a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan and obtain a UPDES permit.
