Metro is issuing an RFI to seek descriptions of camera-based, sensor-based, or other available hardware and software systems that can provide accurate real-time counts of bus passenger boardings, alightings, loads, and potentially origin-destination trip patterns.
WMATA seeks information on systems that provide accurate vehicle-level counts of boardings, alightings, and passenger loads on a real-time and next-day basis. Data should be linked to route, stop, and trip, and broken down by door. Vendors should describe hardware, software, system integrations, data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness achieved in production. For video-based systems, vendors should describe where analytics are performed (on-vehicle, edge, server, or cloud) and associated bandwidth requirements. WMATA prefers solutions with API-based data access for real-time and historical data. Vendors should identify any additional hardware, software, network bandwidth, or infrastructure requirements needed to support passenger counting within WMATA's existing Cisco and Genetec ecosystem. Optional information on origin-destination travel patterns is requested, without facial recognition.

A surety’s written statement that it expects to bond you up to a stated amount, subject to final underwriting. It’s what an agency asks to see before they take your bid seriously.
