Western installed a comprehensive conduit network at WWRF in 2004 & 2011. The existing conduit network and pull-boxes have been verified to have spare conduits. Western plans to install new fiber optic wiring through the existing spare conduit network for the upcoming SCADA System Upgrade Project. Based on field investigation, there are a few areas that require the installation of a new underground conduit duct banks.
Attachment A (Potholing Plan) shows the proposed locations of where the new underground conduit duct bank is to be installed. The proposed locations need to be potholed to verify if there could be potential utility conflicts. Pothole methodology to consist of drilling & slot trenching, as shown on the potholing plan.
