The City of Waco (the “City”) doing business as Cameron Park Zoo (the “Zoo”) is seeking proposals from qualified, high-performing firms interested in operating the foodservice, catering, retail, and ticketing amenities at the Zoo.The primary purpose of this Request for Proposals is for the Zoo to seek a partnership with these services to add value to our guest’s experience at the zoo and add consistency to those services. Additionally, the Zoo is looking for a partner with mission alignment and a respect for sustainable business practices.
The selected operator will manage and operate the foodservice, catering, retail merchandise, and admissions/ticketing operations at Cameron Park Zoo. This includes the Treetops Café (an outdoor café with covered seating), an entrance café (equipped with commercial coffee machine, flattop grill, fryer, and convection ovens), an outdoor pavilion concession stand, the Zootique retail space at the entrance/exit, a satellite retail location, and the admissions/ticketing booths. The operator will be responsible for all applicable permits and licenses, daily upkeep of service locations, providing all labor, menu items and products, and maintaining financial records. The operator must also comply with all insurance requirements, abide by the Zoo's regulations on products sold, and may make alterations to the premises only with prior approval from the Zoo Director.
