North York Widening #2 (Codorus Creek Bridge) (HIGHWAY RECONSTRUCTION) - York County

The SR 0083-091 project consists of the widening, realignment, and reconstruction of I-83, with three lanes in each direction throughout the project limits plus 12-foot median and outside shoulders. Additional roadway improvements include the relocation of Ramps X and Z at Exit 21 and the reconstruction of SR 4055 (Toronita Street), T-511 (Queen Street), T-509/T-513 (10th Avenue), and Columbia Avenue. The I-83 bridge over Mill Creek (2-span) will be replaced with a single-span bridge. Three bridges carrying I-83 over the Norfolk Southern Yard (5-span), SR 1033 (Loucks Mill Road) (3-span), and Codorus Creek (7-span) will be replaced with a single 8-span structure. Other structure work includes the lengthening of an existing culvert running under I-83, the construction of a new culvert under relocated Ramp X, and the construction of a new pedestrian culvert providing access to the east and west sides of I-83. This project will also relocate roughly 1,450 linear feet of Channel 31 located along Columbia Avenue. Other work includes: four overhead sign structures, highway lighting, ITS, signal upgrades, pavement markings, sidewalk & pedestrian ramps, incorporated utility relocation work, planting/landscaping, and other miscellaneous construction, all as indicated on the approved drawings included in the Bid Package for STATE ROUTE 0083, SECTION 091, in YORK COUNTY, SPRINGETTSBURY, MANCHESTER, & SPRING GARDEN TOWNSHIPS and NORTH YORK BOROUGH, from 1,700 feet south of the Eberts Lane overpass at Segment 0184/0185 Offset 1146/1146 to just south of the I-83 overpass of SR 0030 at Segment 0210/0211 Offset 0487/0487. The SR 0083-090 project consists of the relocation of roughly 4,600 linear feet of Mill Creek which runs adjacent to I-83. The Mill Creek relocation will include the installation of numerous in-stream structures and extensive planting in the adjacent floodplain. Additional improvements include the grading and installation of floodplain wetland basins adjacent to Eden Road and Graham Street. Other work includes: incorporated utility relocation work, planting/landscaping, and other miscellaneous construction, all as indicated on the approved drawings included in the Bid Package for STATE ROUTE 0083, SECTION 090, in YORK COUNTY, SPRINGETTSBURY, MANCHESTER, & SPRING GARDEN TOWNSHIPS, from 750 feet east (upstream) of the Eberts Lane bridge over Mill Creek to a point just north (downstream) of the I-83 overpass of Mill Creek. Overall project length is 16,901.26 linear feet (3.201 miles).
