The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets (the “Department”) is pleased
to announce the availability of funds for the 2026 Agricultural Fairgrounds Infrastructure
Improvement Program (the “Program”). This Program will provide funding for fairgrounds
infrastructure improvements to enhance visitor and exhibitor enjoyment of the county and
local fairs in New York State.
Eligible applicants for this Program are agricultural or horticultural corporations and
county extension service associations that sponsor an annual fair or exposition for the
promotion of agriculture and domestic arts and receive premium reimbursements
pursuant to section 286 of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.
NOTE: Eligible applicants must have an executed contract or received approval for a work
plan and budget for the use of available funds previously awarded under the Agricultural
Fairgrounds Infrastructure Improvement Program before they can apply for this grant
opportunity.
Eligible Projects
a) Construction, renovation, alteration, rehabilitation, improvements, installation,
acquisition, repair or replacement of fairground buildings, equipment or permanent or
temporary facilities used to house or promote agriculture; or
b) Construction, renovation, alteration, rehabilitation, improvements, installation,
acquisition, repair or replacement of water systems, restrooms, septic systems, and/or
storm water management systems on fairgrounds or in fairground buildings.
Ineligible Projects
Parking facilities and signage.
