Project Description: (ID/IQ – FEDERAL) Slope Stabilization Upon Request in Division 13
The North Carolina Department of Transportation is requesting slope stabilization upon request in
Division 13 to be let at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
The availability date for this project is December 28, 2026.
The completion date for this project is December 27, 2027.
Sealed bids must be received in the NC Department of Transportation Division Office at 55 Orange
Street, Asheville, NC 28801 by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Bids must be submitted on
the official bid sheet included in the proposal and display the following statement on the front of the
envelope:

STABILIZATION UPON REQUEST ALONG VARIOUS INTERSTATE, PRIMARY, AND
SECONDARY ROUTES IN DIVISION 13 TO BE OPENED AT 2:00 PM ON, NOVEMBER 18,
2026.

Firms that wish to perform work on Division Purchase Order Contracts as either the prime contractor or
as a subcontractor on the project must be prequalified for the type work they wish to perform. Firms that
wish to bid on these projects as the prime contractor must be prequalified prior to submitting a bid.
The contractor will stabilize identified landslides by internally reinforcing the soil mass with reinforcing elements including permanently cased soil nails, self-drilling soil nails and self-drilling micropiles, provide PE-stamped engineering plans with soil nail size, spacing, construction sequence, facing and drainage details for 75-year design life and global stability, perform site evaluation, subsurface exploration, modeling and estimates, mobilize to assigned work orders, maintain traffic with traffic control, and warrant the repaired roadway platform for five years.
