The Consultant shall provide advanced perinatal and maternal–fetal medicine expertise to support statewide maternal system operations, maternal facility designation activities, and quality improvement initiatives. Core responsibilities include serving as a physician member of Maternal Center Inspection Teams, providing specialized clinical expertise during evaluations of Level I–IV maternal facilities, advising on maternal–fetal factors that influence maternal readiness, risk management, clinical capabilities, and compliance with designation standards, participating in facility evaluation activities, supporting the development, refinement, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the OB System of Care Plan, ensuring the plan is informed by evidence-based perinatal practices, applicable regulatory requirements, designation standards, and system-wide performance goals, providing clinical and strategic consultation related to statewide maternal quality improvement efforts, maternal risk management, facility readiness, and system performance, participating in meetings, workgroups, committees, stakeholder engagements, and providing other related professional consultation within the Consultant's area of expertise as requested by the State.
