GENERAL SCOPE
The Columbus Consolidated Government (the City) Police Department is offering used
and confiscated firearms for sale to a licensed firearms dealer who can issue a credit to
purchase or swap for Heckler & Koch MR556 A4 SBR 11” Part No. 81001048 rifles with
accessories.
DUE DATE
October 14, 2026 – 2:30 PM (Eastern)
Responses must be submitted via OpenBids on or before the due date. A virtual opening will be
held during the 3:00 PM hour of the due date. Responding vendors are not required but are
invited to attend the opening.

INSPECTION
Inspections will be scheduled by appointment only. Appointments to inspect the
firearms can be scheduled on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. through
2:00 p.m. Contact: Deputy Chief Ronnie Hastings at 706-225-4035.
The City is offering one lot of 306 confiscated weapons and an additional seven upper receivers .223 caliber 14" barrels with handguards and A-post front sights (no serial numbers). The licensed firearms dealer will issue a 'credit to purchase' or swap for the greatest quantity of Heckler & Koch MR556 A4 SBR 11" Part No. 81001048 rifles with specified accessories. The firearms are sold or swapped 'as is, where is'. The bidder must provide the unit price of the rifle and the quantity offered in exchange. The successful bidder is responsible for all required paperwork for transfer of ownership and must complete the transfer within ten calendar days of award notification.
