The project will replace the existing 423.5-foot-long, 5-span concrete box beam bridge (built in 1971, currently weight-limited to 10 tons) on Marietta Road over the CSX Tracks just South of Thomas St NW. The bridge replacement will include a new structure, pavement, curb and gutter, and a continuous 5-foot sidewalk on each side of the bridge. The proposed project also includes a continuous standard 5-foot sidewalk along Marietta Road from the south of the bridge to Perry Boulevard/West Marietta Street (about 0.8 mile segment).
