SEALED COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS
The Carroll County Board of Education is requesting proposals from interested and qualified
Construction Firms for the construction of Additions and Renovations to: Whitesburg
Elementary School. The proposed budget is $7,000,000.00. Proposals and construction
documents will be available from Southern A & E, LLC (770) 819-7777.
The Carroll County Board of Education (hereinafter referred to as School System) plans to
select the most qualified Construction Firm to enter into a contract for the construction for the
above referenced project.
The procedures for public works construction contracts as established by the Georgia Local
Government Public Works Construction Law, O.C.G.A., 36-91-1 shall be followed. Final
selection will be made in accordance with the policies and administrative directives of the School
System and any other statutory provisions.
It is the intent of Carroll County Schools that local businesses, female-owned businesses, and
minority businesses have a fair and equal opportunity to participate in the new construction
projects. Therefore, the Owner encourages local businesses, female-owned businesses, and
minority businesses to compete for contracts to provide goods, services, and construction, and
encourages contractors to solicit local businesses, female-owned businesses, and minority
businesses in procuring subcontractors and suppliers.
The project involves additions and renovations to Whitesburg Elementary School located at 868 Main Street, Whitesburg, GA 30185. The work includes construction as detailed in the bid documents, with a proposed budget of $7,000,000.00. The contractor will be required to provide bid security, performance and payment bonds, and maintain specified insurance coverages. The selection process includes evaluation of firm history, current workload, project personnel, schedule, and base bid.
