The University is seeking professional architectural and engineering services for a new Environmental & Oceanographic Sciences (EOS) facility on the St. Petersburg campus. The project will support interdisciplinary research, teaching, collaboration, and outreach activities serving the College of Marine Science, the College of Arts and Sciences, and other university stakeholders. The selected firm will conduct programming and planning efforts to establish the facility's space requirements, occupancy projections, specialized equipment needs, laboratory infrastructure requirements, overall scope, building configuration, and future operational considerations.
The project is anticipated to include a mix of laboratory, instructional, office, collaboration, public engagement, and support spaces, as well as shell space for future expansion. The facility shall be planned and designed to incorporate principles of coastal resiliency, flood mitigation, hardening of critical infrastructure, sea-level rise adaptation, and long-term environmental durability appropriate for a waterfront Gulf Coast campus.
