Description
The California State University is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to explore potential
opportunities to collaborate with alternative (private) education loan lenders that provide competitive,
transparent, and student-centered financing options. This initiative aligns with the CSU’s mission and core
values, including a commitment to educational access, social responsibility, affordability, and ethical
financial practices for our diverse student population.
CSU is currently gathering information from lenders that serve undergraduate and graduate students
(including online and self-support programs) as well as parents of undergraduate students. Our objective
is to better understand which lenders offer the most favorable loan terms, flexible repayment options, and
high-quality borrower support—particularly in comparison to standard market offerings available to
students nationwide.

Most California work asks for the two below, and the solicitation documents are where it’s stated. One prequalification covers both — on this bid and the next.
A surety’s written statement that it expects to bond you up to a stated amount, subject to final underwriting. It’s what an agency asks to see before they take your bid seriously.
