Therapeutic Day Services are voluntary, structured, therapeutic group modalities for children and/or adolescents who have serious emotional disturbance. Services provide youth with skills related to social interaction, vocational/educational tasks, emotional regulation, and symptom management; engage youth in pro-social activities; assist youth's transition to other supports; and occur during full day, partial day, after school, early evening, weekend, and/or school vacation. Five service models are described (Model I, II, IIIa, IIIb, IVb) with varying hours, enrollment, staffing ratios, and target populations.
