The project includes roadway and intersection upgrades, new sidewalks and multi-use paths, improved pedestrian crossings and signals, drainage and grading work, installation of standard City bus stop infrastructure along the corridor, and extension of existing bike lanes along Tuckaseegee Road to strengthen connections within the corridor. The AFT project supports the City’s Corridors of Opportunity program by increasing access to resources, enhancing connections to transit, and improving travel options for people walking, biking, and using transit. The project also complements planned mobility hub investments near the intersection by improving access, safety, and network integration across the Freedom Drive and Tuckaseegee Road corridors.
