Contractor will provide boat portage services for the Temporary Barriers Project. The Temporary Barriers Project, managed by the Division of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Water Initiatives Planning and Management Branch (WIPM), involves the annual installation of three (3) rock barriers in the South Delta channels to mitigate the impacts of the State Water Project (SWP) and Central Valley Project on water levels for agricultural diversions. Two (2) of the three (3) barrier site¿s locations require boat portage as the barriers block navigable channels and typically prevent boat passage from May through November of each year. Thus, boat portage is needed to trailer boats across the rock barriers.
