The lessee will farm designated crop fields at Iroquois County State Fish & Wildlife Area according to a cropping plan (Attachment B) that specifies crop rotations including corn, soybeans, wheat, sunflower, millet, and cover crops for lease years 2027 through 2031. The lessee must provide all necessary labor, machinery, tools, seed, fertilizer, equipment and insurance, and must personally farm the land. The lessee must comply with soil conservation plans, maintain minimum soil test levels for phosphorus and potassium, document all chemical and fertilizer applications, and provide yield monitor data. The lessee is prohibited from using neonicotinoid-treated soybean seed and Dicamba. Cover crops must be planted on designated fields. The lessee may perform certain acceptable services in lieu of cash payments, such as chemical application, clearing, mowing, and wetland development, with prior agency approval.
