Removal of Abandoned Telecommunications Equipment
The Contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials, equipment, tools, permits, transportation, testing, disposal, and all incidental services necessary to safely disconnect, remove, and properly dispose of abandoned telecommunications equipment, cabling, conduit, cable pressurization systems, and associated accessories located within the MER-3 (Main Equipment Room) of the Main Hospital Building at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Washington, DC. Work includes removal of cabinets, racks, Motorola cabinets, control panels, power supplies, mounting hardware, copper/fiber optic/coaxial/low-voltage cabling, exposed conduit, junction boxes, pull boxes, cable trays, wireways, supports, hangers, brackets, and cable pressurization systems. The contractor must patch wall penetrations, restore disturbed finishes, dispose of materials off-site, and protect all active systems.
