OK - OZARK PLATEAU NWR - Timber Stand Improvement

The contractor will perform selective mechanical tree thinning (using chainsaws, brush saws, compact track loader, etc.) on a 35-acre portion of the Sally Bull Hollow Unit to reduce tree density and restore a more open upland woodland condition. The work includes cutting and severing trees, targeting Eastern red cedar for removal, retaining desirable mast-producing trees (oaks, hickories, walnuts, persimmons, plums, cherries), and achieving residual densities of 15x15 foot spacing for sapling/pole-sized trees and 20x20 foot spacing for trees 5 inches DBH or larger. All cut vegetation is to be left on the ground. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, and supervision, and must document work with daily logs.
