The contractor shall furnish and install new, non-proprietary microprocessor-based selective collective control systems, geared machines (for Building 6 P1 and Building 53 P1 and P2), and a hydraulic power unit (for Building 53 S1). New car operating panels with push buttons, emergency stop switch, alarm button, fan and light switch, independent switch, emergency light, emergency phone, and braille markings are required at all cars. New hall fixtures with up/down buttons at intermediate landings and a single button at terminal landings, including a key switch for fire service at the lobby, are to be installed at ADA-compliant height. Existing shaft wiring shall be removed and replaced with all new wiring run in conduit or metal wire-way. New car door operators, headers, tracks, and hangers shall be furnished and installed. New traveling cables including shielded pair for communication and coaxial cable for future camera wiring shall be provided. New rope grippers (for Building 6 P1 and Building 53 P1 and P2) and landing systems shall be installed. Cab interiors shall be upgraded per mutually agreed design. The contractor must provide full maintenance and operations service for active elevator equipment during the project period, including a 24/7 emergency dispatch service. Each elevator shall not be shut down for more than 13 weeks. The contractor must comply with VA Elevator Design Manual 2023, NFPA 70, 13, 72, 101, IBC, ASME, OSHA, and VA safety codes. A third-party commissioning is required to test and certify compliance.
