Request for Information (RFI) for On-Premise Server Backup & Recovery software. Amdt 1 to extend response due date to 11/5/2026.
The Social Security Administration is seeking a COTS On-Premise Backup & Recovery Software solution. The solution must collect mainframe data, identify mainframe configuration items, and interface with and populate ServiceNow’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB) with the discovered mainframe hardware and configuration data through a seamless integration. The software must provide full on-premise deployment with no dependency on Cloud or Storage Area Network (SAN) Datacenter for core operations. It must support image-based full, differential, and incremental backups; file-level, block-level, VM-level, and application-aware backups; granular restore; bare-metal recovery for Windows systems; scheduled, on-demand, and policy-based backup jobs; de-duplication and compression; and retention policies. The solution must be compatible with Windows Server 2022 and 2025 OS, support native integration with Hyper-V, and support backup and recovery of Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, file servers, and Windows Server System State. It must support disk-based storage (DAS, NAS, SAN), tape libraries (Dell ML3), and air-gapped or offline backup for ransomware protection. Security requirements include encryption in transit and at rest, Active Directory integration, RBAC, audit logging, and multi-factor authentication. Management requires a centralized on-premise console with job monitoring, alerting, and reporting capabilities. The vendor must provide 24/7 support options, access to updates and patches, and documentation.
