HASSEL ISLAND LANDSCAPING SERVICE

The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, equipment, and PPE to perform vegetation landscaping services on Hassel Island, including cutting, trimming, raking, blowing, and debris removal to a manicure finish of all vegetation and trees. Work includes maintenance of bulkhead grounds, ruins, trails (e.g., Creque Marine Railway trail, Red Trail, Shipley's Battery loop), and historic structures (e.g., Creque Marine Railway, Leprosarium, Shipley's Battery, Hamburg American Line, Historic Barge, Lime Kiln, Brondsted & Company Wharf, 1801 British Officer's Quarters, Hazzel Family Cemetery). Vegetation removal must follow historic preservation guidelines, using hand tools within one foot of historic walls and avoiding pulling plants from structures. The contractor must also remove dead trees safely, dispose of all debris, and provide a schedule for each location prior to beginning work.
