10/26/26 Amendment No. 1 posted in reponsonse to questions.
The 2026 Distributed Wind Turbine Competitiveness Improvement Project (CIP) is comprised of thirteen (13)
different topic areas, as specified in the Statement of Work (Attachment 1), dated September 14, 2026:
Wind turbine development topic areas
Prototype Design Development
Prototype Manufacture
Prototype Installation and Testing
Component Innovation
System Optimization
Small Turbine Certification and/or Listing
Type Certification and Listing
Power electronics development topic areas
Power Electronics Development
Power Electronics Pre-Testing
Power Electronics Listing
Topics areas common to turbine and power electronics development
Manufacturing Process Innovation
Technology Commercialization
Field Validation
The scope of work includes thirteen topic areas: Wind turbine development (Prototype Design Development, Prototype Manufacture, Prototype Installation and Testing, Component Innovation, System Optimization, Small Turbine Certification and/or Listing, Type Certification and Listing), Power electronics development (Power Electronics Development, Power Electronics Pre-Testing, Power Electronics Listing), and common topics (Manufacturing Process Innovation, Technology Commercialization, Field Validation). The work involves design, manufacture, testing, certification, listing, and commercialization of distributed wind energy technology, with a focus on reducing levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and increasing U.S. manufacturing.
