The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is soliciting white papers for its Research Development for Battery Manufacturing Technology (BATTNET) Program via Broad Agency Announcement SP4701-26-B-0006. DLA may select white papers that are most promising for further consideration and request technical proposals from the respondents. The mission of BATTNET IV is to improve Department of Defense (DoD) battery logistics by leveraging advanced manufacturing technologies for the U.S. industrial base.
Respondents propose research and development projects addressing areas such as manufacturing automation, design for manufacturability, process improvements, alternative supply readiness, domestic supply chain improvements, commercial technology transfer, battery standardization, and supply chain management. Projects must run 6-24 months and cost no more than $2 Million each, with a three-step process of White Paper submission, followed by invited technical proposal, followed by invited cost/price proposal. Awarded efforts will be cost-reimbursement or fixed-price type contracts managed with quarterly progress reviews, monthly technical/financial reports, and final summary deliverables.
