Professional liability
Professional liability · For contractors and owners

Professional liability application.

One application for contractors and for owners, managers and developers. A contractor or design-build firm answers about its design and management work; an owner, property manager or developer about the services it provides to others. Answer what you can and send it from the review sheet. Our brokerage takes it to market and comes back with quotes, or with questions.

You likely need this if you design, manage or advise on projects for others.

Plan on 15 to 25 minutes for a design-build contractor or a property manager with no claims, with a typical contract to hand. Your answers are kept in this browser tab only, with no account. Closing the tab clears them, so gather your documents first (the checklist lists them).

Insurers need this to quote. You can send with blanks; we’ll ask for the rest.

What to have on hand: a typical client contract and your current policy (6 things)

The first question asks whether you are a contractor or an owner, manager or developer, and the second sheet follows that answer. Answer counts assume a design-build contractor with one service and no claims.

After you send

What happens after you send.

  1. We read it

A Light RFP broker reads every answer, checks your services, contracts and retroactive date against what the insurers ask, and asks about anything blank or flagged.

  2. We take it to market

Our brokerage takes it to the insurers whose appetite fits your work.

  3. You compare and choose

Limits, deductibles, retroactive dates and exclusions side by side, matched to what your contracts and RFPs require. Our brokerage puts the policy you choose in force and issues your certificates.
