A standard property policy excludes flood, so flood is insured on a policy of its own. This application asks what a flood underwriter needs for each building: its flood zone and elevation, how it is built and what sits on the lowest floor, the amounts you want, any past floods and what your lender requires. Answer what you can and send it from the review sheet. Our brokerage takes it to market and comes back with quotes, or with questions.
Plan on 10 to 15 minutes for one building with no past floods. Your answers are kept in this browser tab only, with no account. Closing the tab clears them, so gather your documents first (the checklist lists them).
* Insurers need this to quote. You can send with blanks; we’ll ask for the rest.
What to have on hand: flood zones, elevation certificates and your lender’s requirements (6 things)
Your lender’s flood paperwork and any elevation certificate answer most of it. The form lists ten buildings. With more, send the full list to insurance@lightrfp.com (a spreadsheet is fine). Answer counts assume one building, no flood cover today and no past floods.

Elevation certificatesA surveyor’s record of how high each building sits against expected flood levels, if you have one.
How each building sitsIts foundation, the number of floors, what is on the lowest floor and what equipment sits below it.
The amounts you wantWhat each building would cost to rebuild, and the value of the contents you want covered.
Your current flood policy, if anyThe declarations page, and the dates of any past floods.
Your lender’s requirementsWhether the loan requires flood cover, and in what amount.
