Property insurance
Coverage review · For owners and managers

Portfolio coverage review.

A free review of the insurance on your whole portfolio. Tell us what you own, what covers it today, what your lenders and associations require, and what you want from the review. Our team reads it and follows up with what we would change, property by property and line by line. Rather send your statement of values and declarations pages? Email them to insurance@lightrfp.com and we start from those.

Have a broker? Send your current policy documents and we can price your coverage from them. With a broker of record letter, we can also quote your renewing underwriter, for a wider slate of options. Nothing changes until you choose.

Plan on 15 to 45 minutes for one property to five, with your declarations pages to hand. Your answers are kept in this browser tab only, with no account. Closing the tab clears them, so gather your documents first (the checklist lists them).

We need this to review your coverage. You can send with blanks; we’ll ask for the rest.

What to have on hand: your property list and declarations pages (6 things)

Most of it is on your declarations pages and your statement of values, and dropping them into the pre-fill panel fills in what they answer. The last sheet asks which documents you can send after. Answer counts assume one property carrying property and general liability.

  • Your property listEach property’s address, what it is, units, square footage and year built. A statement of values has all of it. The form lists ten properties; with more than ten, send your statement of values instead.
  • Your declarations pagesFor each line you carry: the insurer, the renewal date and what you pay.
  • What your lenders requireThe insurance section of each loan agreement or requirements letter.
  • Association documentsFor condominiums, HOAs and co-ops: what the bylaws or master policy require of owners and the board.
  • Your claimsAny claims on the properties in the last five years: when, what happened and what was paid.
  • What you want from itLower cost, better coverage, fewer insurers, one renewal date. Pick any.

After you send

What happens after you send.

  1. We read it

A Light RFP broker reads every answer and asks for the documents you said you can send. The review is free.

  2. We follow up with what we’d change

Property by property and line by line: gaps, overlaps and limits, what your lenders and associations call for, and how the renewal dates line up.

  3. You choose what to re-shop

Our brokerage takes the lines you choose to market and lays the options side by side. You pick; we put the policies in force and issue the certificates your lenders ask for.

Send us your declarations pages and we’ll fill this in with you.
