About this bond

What it is and who needs it.

What the bond actually guarantees

A right-of-way permit bond is a restoration guarantee. When you cut, trench, or build within a Millcreek street or public right-of-way, the city wants assurance that you'll put it back to specification.

It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Millcreek (the obligee). If you leave the work incomplete or defective and don't fix it, the city can recover its restoration costs against the bond.

No bond, no permit. The city requires it as a condition of the right-of-way permit, so we issue the executed $10,000 bond ready to file, and track renewals so your permit stays in good standing.

City of Millcreek — right-of-way permit (Public Works)The City of Millcreek requires this bond as a condition of its right-of-way permit; Utah Code § 10-8-84 authorizes Utah municipalities to regulate work in public rights-of-way and to require a permit bond. The bond amount ($10,000) and terms are set by the City of Millcreek. Confirm current requirements with the city.

You need this bond if you're

A contractor cutting or trenching a Millcreek street under a right-of-way permit
Installing utilities or a driveway approach within the city right-of-way
A utility or telecom doing ROW work inside Millcreek city limits
Renewing a right-of-way permit whose bond lapsed or was non-renewed

Five minutes. The whole thing.

These are the actual issuing fields — no credit check section, because this bond doesn't have one.

FAQs

Common questions.

If yours isn't here, the bond team can usually answer within the hour.

How much is the Millcreek right-of-way bond? +
The premium is $300 — a flat 3% of the fixed $10,000 bond amount, the same for every applicant. The $10,000 is set by the city, so there is no quote process.
Do I pay the $10,000? +
No. You pay $300. The $10,000 is the surety's maximum liability if the city makes a valid claim, not a deposit.
How fast will I have the bond? +
Permit bonds like this issue right after purchase for most applicants — many finish in the same sitting. At most, 1–2 business days.
Is there a credit check? +
Not on this bond — the application has no credit section at all. Small fixed-amount permit bonds like this one don't need one.
When does it renew? +
The bond stays active for your permit term. You can buy a 1, 2, or 3-year term; we send renewal notices 60 and 30 days out, with autopay available.
