The City of Denison requires anyone selling goods or services, or soliciting donations, door-to-door to obtain a peddler's or solicitor's license from the City Secretary and to file a $1,000 surety bond. It's a consumer-protection guarantee: it stands behind your following the City's door-to-door rules and dealing honestly with residents.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Denison (the obligee), with harmed residents as the protected parties. If a peddler takes money and fails to deliver, or violates the City's solicitation ordinance, the harmed resident can recover against the bond.
