A City of Canyon pool/spa contractor bond is a code-compliance and public-protection guarantee. Canyon wants assurance that the work you permit — pools, hot tubs, spas and their equipment — is built to city code and that the public and the city aren't left holding the bill if something goes wrong.
It's a three-party arrangement: you (the principal), the surety carrier, and the City of Canyon (the obligee). If you violate the building code or city ordinance under which you registered, the city — or a harmed party — can make a claim against the bond.
The bond must stay active for as long as you hold your Canyon registration. Let it lapse and the city can pull your registration — so we track it and notify you 60 and 30 days out, keeping your $10,000 filing continuous.
