An Oklahoma motor license agent (tag agent) collects registration fees and taxes for the state, and must file a faithful-performance surety bond for what they collect under 47 O.S. § 1140. The state sets the amount — a $30,000 baseline, adjusted to your volume, never below $5,000. We issue it at a flat 3%, soft pull only.

Your tag agent appointment is waiting on this bond. Here is the whole process — no broker phone tag:
Your details, the county of the principal, the bond amount the state set, and an effective date — plus a one-time consent to a soft credit pull.
Most clear quickly; if underwriting needs anything, you hear from an underwriter within 48 hours. The credit check is a soft pull that never affects your score.

An Oklahoma motor license agent — a “tag agent” — is appointed to process vehicle registrations and titles and to collect the registration fees and taxes that go with them. Because an agent handles public money, the law conditions the appointment on a faithful-performance surety bond for the fees and taxes collected.
The bond is a guarantee that the agent accounts for and remits every dollar collected and faithfully performs the duties of the appointment. The beneficiary is the State of Oklahoma; if an agent fails to remit collections, the state can recover against the bond.
The amount is set by the state: under 47 O.S. § 1140 a motor license agent furnishes a faithful-performance bond of $30,000, which the state can scale up with the volume of business or reduce to a figure commensurate with that volume — but never below $5,000. (Service Oklahoma now administers tag agents, work that historically sat with the Tax Commission.) Enter the amount you were assigned and we issue it at a flat 3%.
These are the actual underwriting fields, including the county of the principal and a one-time soft credit pull. Submit once and the bond is typically issued within 1–2 business days.
